Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel: 4-Game Win Streak—Without Even Dueling?

Last night, I hopped onto Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel for a few games, expecting some solid back-and-forth duels. Instead, I found myself on an effortless four-game win streak—all thanks to my opponents surrendering within the first 60 seconds of each match.

At first, I thought it was a fluke. Maybe some bad hands or unlucky disconnects. But after four straight duels ending the same way, it became clear: too many players are so focused on executing long combo chains that if their setup gets disrupted (or if they don’t open optimally), they just quit rather than actually dueling.

There’s a strange mentality in the game right now where dueling has become secondary to perfect combo execution. If a play doesn’t go exactly as planned, people would rather scoop than adapt, counter, or even attempt to fight back. I get it—some decks are built around explosive turn-one setups—but what happened to playing through setbacks and trying to win with strategy, not just autopilot combos?

It makes me appreciate decks that actually grind and force interaction, rather than relying on the opponent to just sit there while a 15-step sequence unfolds.

Have you noticed this trend? Are we playing Yu-Gi-Oh! or Solitaire?
